Baby House

The Baby House at BORA is a safe and nurturing space for infant orangutans who have lost their mothers due to conflict, poaching, or illegal captivity. Here, they receive round-the-clock care from dedicated babysitters who act as surrogate mothers, providing emotional comfort, proper nutrition, medical support, and enrichment to support their growth and development.

This facility marks the beginning of each orangutan’s rehabilitation journey, where they start building social bonds and learning basic survival skills before progressing to jungle school and, ultimately, life in the wild.
